Meguiar’s MotorEx 18 was transformed into a true automotive festival at the Melbourne Showgrounds this year. Drifting, 4WD demo’s and freestyle motocross added exciting new action elements for the huge crowds. More than 100 automotive aftermarket exhibitors displayed the latest and greatest products and included, for the first time ever, SEMA exhibitors direct from the U.S. There was also a massive push to get the local car community involved, with over 400 Real Street cars adding to the spectacle over the weekend.
A total of 29,665 people attended the once a year event, becoming a new all-time attendance record. DBC2 was working hard behind the scenes, working closely with the MotorEx team to promote the event to a national audience. DBC2 handled much of the pre-event promotion, rolled out media releases, found editorial opportunities and handled media liaison throughout the event period.
Facilitating Channel 7 and Weekend Sunrise to host the weather crosses from Meguiar’s MotorEx on Saturday morning, working with the Herald Sun on story opportunities and engaging Triple M in Melbourne for a Meguiar’s MotorEx campaign were just some of the tasks DBC2 handled for the Meguiar’s MotorEx team.
