In partnership with Tasmanian based NBC Auto Parts & Engineering, DBC2 helped conceive a hands-on program aimed at getting young enthusiasts excited about the prospect of a career in the automotive industry, aptly named Car-eer. Being at the forefront of the auto industry, we understand the nationwide struggle for recruitment in the automotive sector and felt it was necessary to play our part in addressing this.
DBC2 were imperative in not only developing the schematics of the entire program, but also generating the identity of the program and the look and feel of the marketing collateral, social media, along with securing industry partners for corporate support.
Expectations were exceeded when a high number of applicants registered for interest. The program is now up to its 3rd meeting, where students are enjoying the process of stripping down a MK5 GTI project car in preparation for a host of track-ready parts to be fitted.
The students are working hard to prepare the car for its maiden track voyage at Challenge Bathurst in December 2019, under the watchful eye of industry professionals, encouraging and educating them along the way.
The runaway success of Car-eer in Tasmania has sowed the seed for the program to be taken to a national level in 2020. Watch this space.
